Beyond Trends: Why Authenticity Matters in Pre-Wedding Photography

Charanjeet Dhiman- Social Activist, Media Professional

Over time, I’ve noticed a shift in the industry—many people are working only for numbers now. But there is always a clear difference between quantity and quality, and that difference eventually reflects in the work.

This balance between affordability and artistic integrity is one of the biggest challenges we face today as photographers.

At the same time, the demand for pre-wedding photography continues to grow. Social media has played a huge role in this shift. Couples today are constantly exposed to high-quality visuals, and naturally, their expectations have evolved. They don’t just want photos—they want something that stands out, something they can connect with and share.

This has pushed all of us to keep innovating, not just creatively but technically as well.

Locations and themes have also become an important part of storytelling. Whether it’s the timeless charm of Rajasthan’s forts, the raw beauty of Uttarakhand’s landscapes, or the emotional depth of places like Gulmarg and Pahalgam in Kashmir—each setting adds its own layer to the story.

But beyond everything, one thing has become very clear to me—originality is no longer optional. Couples today don’t want generic shots. They want something that truly feels like them.
